March, 2002 Iguana Hat, a rockin' blues band based out of Walla Walla, Washington is currently in B Street Studios, completing work on their sophomore release, "Leapin' Lizards", scheduled for release in late April or early May. Following last year's much heralded debut release, "Not Your Usual Lounge Lizards", the members of "The Hat" are eager and itching to put the finishing touches on their latest studio effort and hit the road for the upcoming Spring/Summer concert season. Iguana Hat has opened for Curtis Salgado, Duffy Bishop, Coco Montoya, Jude Bowerman and others. They have, for four years, been perenial favorites at clubs and festivals throught the Pacific Northwest, with frequent and annual stops at the Wild Horse Casino Native House of Blues, The Ritzville Blues and Woodstick Family Music Festivals, as well as well touted stops in Joseph, Baker City, Halfway and Portland, Oregon and Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, among others. Last year's tour schedule was highlighted by their ripping, headline performance at the Prosser Blues Fest and a tour d'force set before a packed, SRO crowd of 5,000-plus at the Nightglow presentation during the Walla Walla Hot Air Balloon Stampede. Closer to home, "The Hat" annualy thrill their hometown fans at local events such as The Fourth of July at Pioneer Park, Wheelin' Walla Walla Weekend and the Southeastern Washington Fair. Among the clubs where they have left standing-room-only crowds sweating and begging for more are The Rattlesnake Mountain Brewery, Atomic Ale, Cavanaugh's and Victor's in the Tri-Cities, Hogan's in Clarkston, Washington, The Alibi in Lewiston, Idaho, and The Mill Creek Bew Pub, The Marcus Whitman Hotel and Conference Center, Legends, The Blue Mountain Tavern, The Sand Trap and Merchants in Walla Walla, as well as numerous other clubs, ski resorts and wineries throughout the region. The four piece, rockin' blues band (guitar, bass, Hammond B3 organ, saxaphone, harmonica and percussion) carries with it an abundance of both studio and live performance experience and while their studio releases are all original works, their live shows also include well known favorites by such legendary acts as Tinsley Ellis, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Delbert McClinton and the Allman Brothers Band.
